How to create Guarantee Price Type in Spoonbill PMS.

1 min read

What is a Guarantee?
A guarantee price type means that the rooms reserved are guaranteed by the partner or guest and cannot be released automatically back to the hotel. Unlike allotments, the hotel is secured because the reservation is binding, even if the guest list is not yet added.

How it works in Spoonbill PMS:

  • When you create a Price Type – Guarantee, the reservation stays valid regardless of whether guest details have been added.

  • The way to do this in our system is to set release days as 0.

  • Since the rooms are guaranteed, they are not released automatically back into availability (as happens with allotments).

Example:
If a partner books 5 rooms under a guarantee price type, those 5 rooms remain blocked for them until check-in (or until the partner cancels). Even if no guest list is provided, the hotel has the guarantee that the rooms are secured.

  • Click on the Configurations icon.

  • Once this menu pops up, click on Price type.

  • After you’ve been redirected to this page, click on Add new.

  • Once you’ve filled in the necessary information, make sure to turn the Active and Has release days? switches on.

  • Once you’ve done that, a new section named Release days will appear. Make sure to set it as 0.

  • And for the last step, click on Update.
